Super Bowl 2025 Brand Commercials

 Super Bowl 2025 Commercial Recap

The Super Bowl is popular for many reasons: the game itself, the halftime show, delicious foods, and entertaining commercials. This year's Super Bowl was held on Sunday, February 9th, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs were going head to head to win that big championship ring!
The Super Bowl commercials are usually humorous, inspiring, cinematic pieces that make commercial breaks not so boring. Millions of viewers watch these commercials; therefore, it is a great opportunity for brands to air their most eye-catching advertisements. You will see celebrities, heartwarming moments, and everything in between, leading to these commercials being just as memorable as the game. Whether they make you laugh, cry, or simply in awe, Super Bowl ads continue to set a high standard in the marketing world.
This year, the commercials stood out to me as I was looking at them from an educational standpoint rather than entertainment. While watching them, I kept in mind different strategies they may be using to reach different audiences. The "Dove" advertisement features a young girl running, and it states, "At 3, these legs are unstoppable," and then it says, "At 14, she'll think they're unbearable." This advertisement uses minimal wording, fitting music, and appropriate visuals to portray their message. In this particular advertisement, that message is to speak to others positively to promote confidence at a young age. I really enjoyed this advertisement because of their message and the simplicity of it. It was easy to follow and understand while also being relatable.
The Little Caesars commercial features Eugene Levy eating one of their menu items. They utilize humor to keep the viewers' attention throughout the advertisement. Another aspect of this commercial that stood out to me was how well they did with the graphics of the mustache flying throughout the air and onto different people. I have noticed that humor is what really helps an advertisement stand out unless it is pulling at my heartstrings.
Another Super Bowl ad that I found intriguing was the HexClad Cookware ad featuring Gordon Ramsey and Pete Davidson. This is another advertisement that featured well-known celebrities. Ramsey was a great pick for this role as the advertisement is for a cookware brand. There was also humor in this commercial that kept me interested and eager for more. I found myself curious at the end about what ended up happening after. I am also someone who wouldn't typically pay attention to this commercial as I am not someone who cooks regularly, but since there was humor implemented, it stood out to me more.
The last commercial that I would like to touch on is one that was viewed as controversial. This advertisement was promoting the Hims&Hers weight loss program. In their commercial, they share that "Obesity is America's deadliest epidemic" and the statistic that it leads to half a million deaths each year. The company then goes on to talk about how "Something's broken - and it's not our bodies, it's the system," talking about the weight loss industry. This is what viewers were deeming controversial as it is opinion-based with some facts thrown in. Personally, I am a bit in the middle on whether it is accurate or not because I see these weight loss programs as overdone and not properly utilized. However, this company is advertising themselves to be better than the other brands.
Overall, the Super Bowl commercials range widely from humorous to inspirational to controversial. Each of these is a different way to boost media attention to their brand. As advertising continuously changes, the Super Bowl continues to be a platform for brands to get others talking and connect with them in creative ways. While a lot of us tune in for the game, the commercials remind us just how powerful marketing can be.
