Sol De Janeiro on Brand 24

 Following Along with Sol De Janeiro

    In class on Tuesday, February 18th, we were instructed to choose a brand to look at on Brand 24. For this, I decided to follow Sol De Janeiro, a popular hair care, body care, and fragrance brand! I chose to follow this brand because I enjoy their products and felt that it was fairly well-known. Some of their most popular products are their body sprays and body lotions. Sol De Janeiro offers a broad range of scents in their products as well as a wide variety of product types. The hair care products that they sell are shampoo and conditioners, treatment masks, oils, and more. For body care, they have lotions, oils, deodorant, etc. Lastly, which I would consider to be their most sold products, their fragrances; Sol De Janeiro offers eight different scents. 
    On Brand 24, I looked at many different things that they offered insight on. The first part that I chose to look into was the brand mentions. It tells us how many mentions there were on a given day and the number of people that those mentions reached. A particular day that stood out to me on the list of brand mentions was Friday, January 24, 2025. On this day, there were 143 mentions, which was not dramatically higher than their typical amount, but the number reached is what surprised me. On this day, the 143 mentions reached just over 10 million people. Comparing this large number to their other peak mentions, the next highest one that is visible to me was on February 17, 2025. I tried to dive deeper into why this specific day reached so many people, but all I found was a TikTok that a creator shared that had 9 million views. 
    Next, I decided to look at the brand sentiment chart. This chart tells you if the brand has a positive or negative sentiment correlated with it, and it is also filtered by date. For as far as I can tell, Sol De Janeiro has a positive sentiment associated with their brand. When I looked into the date with the highest number of negative sentiments and looked at the content that was deemed negative (only 8), I found that there wasn't any content specifically being negative about the brand. From what I could tell, it was marked as negative because of words that were used in the captions and the brand being mentioned in some way. For example, one of them is captioned "My desk looks so dirty," with Sol De Janeiro being tagged. I viewed the video that this was linked to, and there were no negative things said about any brand!
    Another feature of Brand 24 that I decided to explore was the analysis tab. On this tab, there is a lot of information to explore. There are popular mentions, popular profiles, trending hashtags, most active sites, popular emojis, word mentions, and more! The top four trending hashtags associated with Sol De Janeiro are as follows: #fyp, #skincare, #soldejaneiro, and #makeup. The two most active sites for this brand are TikTok (2,000 mentions) and YouTube (551 mentions). I found it interesting to look at the most popular emojis that are associated with Sol De Janeiro, and the top one is the ✨. This one has about 300 mentions with the brand. Lastly, the word that is most associated with Sol De Janeiro is "beauty," which is about 4.8% in the last month or so. 
    I enjoyed exploring Brand 24 for information about a company that I use and enjoy! It was intriguing to look into the deeper insights about why the brand is portrayed the way it is and be able to see content from some of the top influencers of their brand. This website is a very useful tool for anyone who may need to follow along with a company and their social media presence!
