The 2025 Grammy Awards Recap

Grammy Awards 2025

The 2025 Grammy Awards were held on February 2, 2025. The Grammy Award is a well-known and sought-after award as top music artists compete against other top artists. Throughout the night, we see high-end outfits, some more appealing than others (sorry Doechii), impressive performances, GlamBot features, and more.
Let's start by covering some of the top red carpet looks we saw. Chappell Roan attended the red carpet wearing a unique number by Jean Paul Gaultier. Sabrina Carpenter came in her custom JW Anderson baby blue gown. Beyoncé wore a custom sparkly gown done by Schiaparelli. We saw Billie wearing Prada and Taylor Swift in Vivienne Westwood with a "T" on her upper thigh. Was this "T" for "Taylor" or for "Travis"? Not all of the looks at the Grammy Awards were beautiful and elegant. We saw a few that brought up some concerns and confusion. For example, Jaden Smith wore Louis Vuitton but also wore a black castle as a hat. Kanye West and Bianca Censori...she wasn't very censored, and that's why I'm going to leave that at that.
The GlamBot has become a very popular media presence at high-end events like the Grammys. It is a high-speed slow-motion camera that captures the movement of the person behind the camera lens. Some of the stunning content we saw from the GlamBot came from Taylor Swift, Haley Baylee, Cardi B, Madison Beer, Chappell Roan, and Gracie Abrams. The GlamBot is something that a lot of celebrities prepare for as their moment will be shared across social platforms.
As the night goes on, we see incredible performances from many talented artists. One of the performances that really stood out to me was Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club." It was an amazing moment to see so many big-name artists supporting an up-and-coming artist as she performed one of her hits. Another great performance was Sabrina Carpenter performing a rendition of her hit song "Espresso." She added a comedic element to it in the beginning and then switched to the regular song and costume style. Sabrina did add a jazz flair to it with tap shoes, saxophones, and background vocals. Benson Boone also performed at the Grammy's with his song "Beautiful Things." At the beginning of his performance, Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser rip off Boones' tuxedo jacket to reveal a blue full-body suit underneath. The performance on stage consisted of great vocals, flips, and some adjusting...if you know what I mean. Overall, the performers were phenomenal, and they all had their own flare!
Now, let's talk about the awards that were given and the controversy behind some. Taylor Swift did not leave with any Grammy Awards in hand. The artist had six nominations, but this year was not the one for her when it came to winning an award at the Grammy's. Billie Eilish also did not win any awards this year at the Grammys. Fans grew concerned because Billie was seen with tears welling up in her eyes as Beyoncé won one of her awards for Album of the Year, which Eilish was a nominee for. Kendrick Lamar won five awards on Sunday, all of which were for his song "Not Like Us," which is a diss to artist Drake. Now, the part of this whole event that made me question what exactly qualifies someone for a Grammy award. Beyoncé was awarded three Grammy's, and they were for the following categories: Album of the Year, Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and Best Country Album. I will say, I am happy that Beyoncé won her first Grammy for Album of the Year, that is a great accomplishment! The part that can be considered a hot take is her winning Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Personally, I feel that a true and dedicated country artist should have won this category. I would also like to reiterate that I don't know what goes into the process of deciding winners; this is something I am interested in learning about!
In the end, the 2025 Grammy Awards was a night of high-end fashion and memorable performances and moments. From the glitz and glam of the red carpet to emerging artists like Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter stepping into the spotlight, the event showcased some of the best in the music industry. However, as always, the Grammys were not without their controversies, whether it be unexpected events, the debate over awards, or the performances. From my perspective, this year's Grammy was something I will remember!
